The Opportunity
Bayview Gardens Retirement Living is set amongst a tropical oasis in rainforest-like grounds in the heart of Sydney’s Northern Beaches. With our brand new community centre opening in August 2026, this is the perfect chance to be part of exciting developments within the community. As our Chef Manager, you will be working closely with your small team of hospitality staff, leading the café kitchen to success by providing exquisite hospitality services that exceed the satisfaction of all residents. Our Chef Managers are extremely hands-on, preparing daily meals and building relationships with residents.
This is a permanent part-time opportunity working Monday – Thursday (10:00am-3:00pm) and Fridays (10:00am-6:00pm)

You will
- Be responsible for all café operations - preparing food for morning tea, lunch and afternoon service, and bringing fresh ideas to the menu
- Work closely with the team to deliver great service, keep the café running smoothly, and help coordinate resident events and functions held in the space
- Monitor daily Food Safety and compliance checklists and ensure strict adherence to all OH&S; policies
- Complete stock management of all goods including ordering, rotation and amendments
- Following up on day-to-day operational issues including adhering to schedules, cleaning lists and performance issues
What you'll bring:
- Experience as a Chef in any kitchen setting (e.g retirement villages, aged care, cafes, a la carte settings, RSLs or pubs)
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (required)
- Qualified Food Safety Supervisor (desirable)
- Kitchen management experience (ordering stock, rostering and admin experience)
- Current Police Check clearance and minimum two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
