About the Role

The Arts, Heritage and Libraries Branch enriches the lives of Sunshine Coast residents and visitors through cultural leadership, learning opportunities, community connections and memorable experiences. As part of a passionate team, you'll help deliver modern, accessible library services that inspire curiosity, support digital inclusion and strengthen community wellbeing.

As a Library Officer, you will deliver outstanding customer service while supporting the day-to-day operation of Sunshine Coast Libraries. From assisting customers with information and digital resources to delivering engaging programs, events and learning opportunities, you'll play an important role in creating welcoming library spaces that connect people with knowledge, technology and community.

Key Responsibilities





- Deliver exceptional customer service and information assistance
- Promote and facilitate library programs, events and learning sessions
- Support reference, technology and digital literacy services
- Maintain library collections, displays and welcoming library spaces

About you

- You are a customer-focused professional who enjoys helping people access information, resources and services. Your communication skills allow you to build positive relationships with customers from diverse backgrounds.
- You thrive in a team environment and bring a collaborative, can-do attitude. You're proactive, adaptable and committed to delivering high-quality service outcomes.
- You are confident using technology and eager to learn new systems and applications. You enjoy supporting others to develop their digital skills and embrace emerging technologies.
- You are comfortable delivering programs and engaging with groups of all ages, from children's literacy activities to community learning and digital education sessions.
- Certificate III in Library and Information Services, a similar qualification, or equivalent professional experience
- Active Blue Card or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement

Pre-Employment Medical Required

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
