About the role

The Community Engagement Officer will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the development of person centered, recovery focused, evidence-based and innovative clinical and psychosocial services that achieve high quality outcomes for consumers and their families and carers.

This is a full-time fixed-term position based at the Medicare Mental Health Centre Campbelltown, available until 30 June 2028, with the possibility of extension subject to ongoing government funding.

Duties

- Build and strengthen relationships with consumers, carers, community groups and key stakeholders to increase awareness of Medicare Mental Health services.
- Lead outreach, events and health promotion activities that improve mental health literacy, reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking.
- Gather community insight and feedback to inform service improvement, support co-design and ensure services meet local needs.

Skills & Experience

1. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences or education.
2.



Demonstrated understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.
3. Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate to groups of people (including public speaking), tailoring communication to suit a specific target group or age range.
4. Demonstrated ability to coordinate, implement and report on programs with some level of autonomy.
