As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting fixed plant equipment within a busy port operations environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on ore processing equipment, including conveyors, crushers and screens.
- Manufacture, assemble and repair metal structures and mechanical components associated with ore processing operations.
- Maintain conveyor systems, ensuring alignment, tensioning and lubrication requirements are met.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults to minimise equipment downtime.
- Provide mechanical support to operations teams to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
- Coordinate effectively with maintenance and operational personnel to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance activities.
- Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments and hazard identification processes.
- Adhere to all site safety procedures and compliance requirements.
Roster & Contract Information
- 12-month contract
- Immediate start available
- FIFO roster: 8 days on, 6 days off, then 7 nights on, 7 days off
- Port Hedland based role
- Backfill opportunity within an established maintenance team
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential Requirements
- Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification
- High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, Dogging and/or Basic Rigging)
- Working at Heights certification
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Valid MSIC Card or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
- Previous experience maintaining conveyors, crushers,
screens or fixed plant equipment
- Solid fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills
Candidates with experience in mining, ports, bulk materials handling or fixed plant maintenance environments will be highly regarded.
- 12-month FIFO opportunity based in Port Hedland
- Work on critical fixed plant equipment including conveyors, crushers and screens
- Attractive roster: 8:6 / 7:7 (days and nights)
- Immediate start available with exposure to large-scale mining and port operations
