About the role

We’re seeking an experienced and reliable Production Assistant to join our brick factory in Longford, Tasmania. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for undertaking various duties throughout the factory including administrative tasks and assisting the Production Supervisor in maintaining safety and quality within the factory.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Process purchase orders, goods receipting, invoice approvals, and vendor setup in JDE.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stocktakes of consumables, work in progress, and finished goods.
• Enter and maintain daily production data and prepare routine production and raw material reports.
• Assist with weekly profit estimates and other administrative reporting requirements.
• Support quality control activities, including product measurements, grading, reporting, and raw material sampling.
• Coordinate product samples and liaise with Design Centres to ensure displays remain current.
• Maintain stock levels of handmade products through daily production planning.
• Support site operations by assisting with contractor onboarding and participating in training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Success Requirements

• Strong administrative skills with experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environment preferred.
• Understanding of procurement processes, inventory control, stocktakes, and production reporting.
• Experience using ERP systems (JDE or similar) for purchasing, stock control, or production data entry is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong accuracy, organisation, and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing tasks independently.
