Plenty of analyst roles will offer you a seat at the table for a transformation that never quite starts. This one has a vendor selection happening within weeks.

PBE Rutherford Mining is part of PBE Group, a global electrical engineering, manufacturing and technology business delivering into mining, tunnelling, infrastructure, energy and data centres. PBE Rutherford Mining is the Australian arm providing permanent power solutions and cable services to the mining and infrastructure markets, across cables and couplers, manufacturing and overhauls, equipment hire, site electrification projects, and site services.

Growth across the group has been rapid, particularly in the data centre division, and it has been achieved without retrenchments and with strong backing from both the Australian and global executive teams. The systems underneath that growth have not kept pace.

So the group is now replacing them properly: a new ERP going live at ADE Power first, then here at PBE Rutherford Mining, alongside the replacement of two legacy applications the business has clearly outgrown.

That is where you come in. This is a dedicated position inside the ERP program team, working alongside an existing Business Systems Analyst and reporting into the Group Programme Manager. Your focus is the ERP and everything that has to be built around it: the existing CRM, the integrations that need to be mapped, scheduling and workforce management platforms, and the operational processes running through the cable shops, the workshop, long-run project delivery, and the data centre business.

The current state is simple, which is both the good news and the challenge. There is very little worth carrying across untouched, so this is real design work rather than replication. If you have ever wanted to shape the future state of a business rather than document someone else’s decisions, this is that role.

What you’ll be responsible for

- Running discovery workshops to capture current ("as-is") processes and the pain points that come with them.
- Documenting and designing improved ("to-be") processes across the affected business areas.
- Gathering, analysing, and translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Supporting the evaluation and recommendation of replacement solutions for two legacy systems.
- Supporting ERP scoping activities, including requirements gathering, vendor evaluation, and fit-gap analysis.
- Contributing to implementation: testing, data migration validation, training, and documentation.
- Liaising between business stakeholders, IT, and external vendors and consultants.
- Providing hands-on support through roll-out and stabilisation.

What you’ll bring

- Experience in business analysis, process mapping, or ERP and business application projects.
- ERP implementation experience across the full lifecycle (pre, during, and post go-live) is ideal.
- Strong stakeholder management, with the credibility to work across trades, engineers, functional leads, finance, and senior leadership.
- Familiarity with system implementation lifecycles: discovery, design, testing, go-live.
- The ability to capture and document requirements clearly and turn them into actionable outcomes.
- Proficiency with Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel for process and requirements documentation.
- Broad, adaptable experience. This program moves quickly and priorities will shift.

Highly regarded, though not essential:

- Exposure to ERP platforms such as Dynamics 365, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
- Legacy system replacement or data migration experience.
- Knowledge of reporting and analytics platforms (Power BI, Microsoft Fabric).
- Change management, or UAT and testing coordination experience.
- A background in manufacturing, mining, engineering, or similarly complex operational environments.

What’s on offer

- A funded, active ERP program with executive sponsorship, not a discovery exercise that stalls.
- Real influence over how the future state is designed, across multiple divisions and sites.
- A defined two-year scope on the program, with genuine potential to open into something larger as the technology function matures.
- Pragmatic leadership and a get-things-done culture that values clarity and practical outcomes over bureaucracy.

- An organisation investing seriously in technology, data, and process modernisation.

Additional details

- Permanent, full time, based at Tomago, NSW.
- Some travel required to understand processes where they actually happen.
- The wider group spans the UK and Singapore, so occasional cross-time-zone collaboration comes with the territory.

If you want a Business Analyst role where the program is already moving, the design decisions are still open, and the work will visibly change how a business operates, this one is worth a conversation.
