- About the role:

The Physiotherapy department at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital is looking for a hardworking, experienced and team oriented Physiotherapist. The Lymphoedema Physiotherapist is responsible for providing high quality care to those experiencing, or who are at risk of, experiencing lymphoedema.

The department has an L-Dex machine to monitor for fluid build-up following various surgeries as we play a key role in not only managing lymphoedema but preventing it. Our team currently consists of around 20 Physiotherapists who play a crucial role in the hospital and community settings.

Key responsibilities:

- Clinical Excellence & Patient-Centred Care – Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy across all settings, leading multidisciplinary teams to optimise outcomes, ensure timely discharge, and uphold professional and ethical standards including Aboriginal cultural competence.

- Documentation, Compliance & Quality Improvement – Maintain accurate documentation within KPIs and NSW Health Directives, contributing to service planning, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.

- Leadership, Supervision & Team Culture – Supervise junior staff and students, foster positive workplace culture, and actively contribute to MLHD Professional Discipline and Allied Health networks.





- Professional Development & Growth – Advance personal development through ongoing education, evidence-based practice, clinical supervision, and performance reviews to continuously improve service quality.

Our ideal candidate:

- Qualified & Clinically Advanced – Holds a tertiary Physiotherapy qualification with current AHPRA registration and demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice within the specialty.

- Leader & Supervisor – Proven experience in clinical and team leadership, staff and student supervision and the ability to initiate, lead and evaluate quality improvement initiatives and service development.

- Communicator & Collaborator – Highly developed communication skills including negotiation, advocacy, and decision-making, with the ability to engage constructively across a diverse range of stakeholders via in-person and telehealth delivery.

- Organised & Mobile – Solid time management, written, verbal and IT skills, with a current Class C drivers licence and willingness to travel and develop policies and procedures that drive service improvement.
