About the Company

- Our client is a well-established organisation providing essential environmental and utility services to communities across Melbourne's Northern region.
- Seeking a Laboratory Technician/Sampling Operator to join their team on a contract basis.
- Reporting directly to the Senior Plant Team Lead, you will play a key role in supporting laboratory operations and water sampling programs.
- This is a hands-on position suited to a motivated laboratory professional looking to gain valuable experience within an environmental testing environment. The role involves a combination of laboratory-based duties and field sampling activities, requiring a high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm

Key Responsibilities

- Collect water samples from various operational and environmental sites.
- Transport, prepare, and process samples for laboratory analysis.
- Calibrate, maintain, and operate laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Perform routine laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.
- Accurately record, document, and report laboratory data.
- Assist with laboratory quality assurance and compliance requirements.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and undertake general housekeeping duties.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
- Support the Laboratory Manager and wider laboratory team with day-to-day operations.
- This role requires regular travel between multiple sites across Melbourne's northern suburbs.

About You

- Bachelor of Science (Chemistry,



Environmental Science, or a related discipline) or Certificate/Diploma in Laboratory Techniques.
- Previous experience in a lab tech/sampling operator role highly regarded
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and own reliable car
- Flexibility to work varying hours in line with operational requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy environment.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
