Our client is a leading national logistics and transport business seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a large-scale delivery and fleet operation across a fast-paced environment.

THE ROLE
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, fleet utilisation, customer outcomes, safety, and team engagement. You will lead a team of operational leaders while overseeing a large network of delivery contractors and ensuring service levels, productivity, and commercial objectives are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop a team of operational leaders
- Manage daily transport, routing and resource allocation activities
- Drive fleet utilisation, productivity and service performance
- Develop and execute workforce planning and contractor retention strategies
- Monitor and improve operational KPIs and customer outcomes
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage performance, coaching and development across the operation
- Ensure compliance with safety and Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support operational and commercial objectives

About You




- Proven leadership experience within transport, logistics, distribution or OTR delivery environments
- Experience managing large operational teams
- Demonstrated ability to improve performance, engagement and operational efficiency
- Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
- Passion for leading people and creating high-performing teams
