Responsibilities

As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of the Engineering Department. You will oversee preventative maintenance programs, capital works projects, contractor management, compliance requirements, energy conservation initiatives, and the maintenance of all hotel assets and systems.

This is a full time role, working closely with the Executive Team to ensure the property operates safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards and legislative requirements.

Your key responsibilities will be:

- Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance operations across the hotel.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets,



capital expenditure plans, and maintenance programs.
- Oversee preventative maintenance systems and asset management strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, fire safety requirements, and building codes.
- Manage contractors, consultants, and service providers to ensure quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- Deliver and oversee capital works projects from planning through to completion.
- Drive energy management and sustainability initiatives across the property.
- Monitor and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and environmental control systems.
- Develop, coach, and lead a skilled engineering team.
- Contribute to hotel quality assurance programs and guest satisfaction objectives.

About YOU

- Proven experience in a Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, or senior maintenance leadership role, preferably within a hotel workplace.
- Strong knowledge of building services, preventative maintenance, compliance requirements, and asset management.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, capital projects, contractors, and service providers.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
