The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Management System (BMS) Service Engineer / Technician to join our Sydney team.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will act as a trusted technical partner to customers across a diverse portfolio of commercial offices, healthcare facilities, education campuses, infrastructure projects, defence sites, and other critical environments throughout the Sydney metropolitan area.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about smart buildings, automation technology, energy efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
The Role
No two days are the same at Schneider Electric. You will be involved in the installation, maintenance, service, troubleshooting, programming, commissioning, and optimisation of Building Management Systems and associated control technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, and commission BMS equipment, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and networking devices.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults and performance issues across BMS and control systems.
- Develop, deploy, and modify control logic and system programming.
- Configure and integrate BMS systems within building automation projects.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and performance assessments.
- Recommend system improvements and energy efficiency initiatives to customers.
- Provide technical support and customer training on BMS operation and maintenance.
- Manage service requests and breakdowns while ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and records.
- Deliver service outcomes within budget and agreed timeframes.
- Ensure compliance with all Schneider Electric and customer safety requirements.
- Participate in an on-call roster (on-call allowance and overtime apply).

What We're Looking For
- Experience working with Building Management Systems, building automation, controls, instrumentation, HVAC, or related technologies.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
- Knowledge of networking hardware and IT infrastructure, including switches, routers, and communication protocols.
- Electrical, Mechanical HVAC, Controls, Instrumentation, or related technical qualifications are highly regarded.
- Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools.
- Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around electrical equipment.
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and work in operational environments for extended periods.
