The Role
In this customer-facing field service role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of laboratory instrumentation used within research institutes, universities, hospitals and clinical laboratories.
Working autonomously while supported by a collaborative national service team, you'll become a trusted technical expert for customers throughout QLD.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission and validate advanced laboratory instrumentation
- Deliver customer training following installations
- Perform preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and performance testing
- Provide remote technical troubleshooting and support
- Maintain accurate service documentation and compliance records
- Manage spare parts inventory and equipment logistics
- Work closely with Sales and Applications Specialists to identify upgrade and service opportunities
- Prepare repair quotations and recommend ongoing service solutions
- Participate in ongoing technical training and product development programs
- Ensure all work complies with quality and regulatory requirements
About You
We're looking for an engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise with outstanding customer service.
Ideally you will have:
- Qualifications in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience servicing laboratory, scientific, analytical, medical or diagnostic instrumentation
- Robust electro-mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience working with Windows operating systems, software installations, networking and instrument configuration
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently while managing a regional territory
- A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout Queensland
