Catering & Events Manager – Nissan Arena & QSAC
Lead Relationships. Drive Exceptional Events. Deliver Exceptional Experiences.
Australian Catering Services (ACS), Queensland’s leading stadium and event catering provider, holds the exclusive catering rights to Nissan Arena and Qld Sports & Athletics Centre (QSAC). We are seeking an exceptional Catering & Events Manager to lead our catering and event operations and inspire a team of more than 20 staff across two of Queensland’s premier sporting and entertainment venues.
This is not simply an operations role. We are looking for someone who excels at building strong relationships, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and ensuring every event is planned and delivered seamlessly from concept to completion.
If you are highly organised, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are recognised for your communication, planning and relationship management skills, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
As the Catering & Events Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination and successful delivery of catering services across sporting events, concerts, corporate hospitality, conferences, functions and community events at Nissan Arena and QSAC.
Working closely with our Venue Head Chef and Assistant Manager, you will collaborate with venue management, event & sporting organisations and internal teams to ensure every event is professionally planned, clearly communicated and executed to the highest standard.
Success in this role depends on your ability to bring people together, anticipate operational requirements, solve problems before they occur and keep all stakeholders informed throughout the planning and delivery process.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Build and maintain strong relationships with venue partners, clients, event organisers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Lead the planning and coordination of catering and event operations across major sporting, entertainment and corporate events.
- Develop operational plans, timelines and clear deadlines to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Lead, coach and develop internal venue teams while fostering a positive, high-performing culture.
- Manage budgets, rostering, stock control, reporting and operational compliance.
- Continually improve planning, communication, operational efficiency and customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is an exceptional organiser and communicator—someone who naturally builds trust, earns respect and can confidently manage competing priorities while keeping multiple stakeholders aligned.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills with the ability to develop productive relationships across all levels of the business.
- Exceptional planning, organisation and project coordination skills.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple events simultaneously without losing attention to detail.
- Proven leadership experience managing and motivating large teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational performance.
- Confidence making decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure workplace.
- A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate issues before they arise.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Essential Experience
- Minimum three years’ experience leading and managing teams.
- At least five years’ experience in hospitality, catering, venue operations or event management.
- Demonstrated success planning and delivering complex events involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience managing high-volume catering or hospitality operations.
- Current Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) qualification (or ability to obtain).
- Relevant qualifications in Hospitality, Event Management, Business or Tourism are highly regarded.
Why Join ACS?
You’ll join Queensland’s leading stadium catering company and play a key role in delivering exceptional catering and event experiences at some of the state’s most exciting sporting, entertainment and corporate events.
This role offers genuine variety, significant responsibility and the opportunity to influence how major events are planned and delivered. If you’re passionate about hospitality, thrive on building relationships and enjoy bringing people together to achieve exceptional outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.
How to Apply
Please submit your current resume together with a cover letter outlining how your experience aligns with the requirements of this role, particularly your experience in stakeholder management, event planning, communication and leadership.
