Sisters in the City
Brisbane
Join a growing NDIS provider where people come first.
Sisters in the City is a queer and nurse-owned NDIS provider supporting people with physical disability, psychosocial disability, mental health conditions and complex health needs across Brisbane. We're expanding our Disability Support Worker team and are looking for compassionate, reliable and person-centred workers who enjoy building genuine long-term relationships with participants.
We have open rosters across Brisbane's north and south right now, with immediate-start shifts available and ongoing opportunities to grow your roster as our participant base continues to expand.
Whether you're an experienced Disability Support Worker, studying Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or Allied Health, or simply looking for a provider that genuinely values quality support over rushed visits, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you'll provide individualised support to NDIS participants in their homes and throughout the community.
Supports may include:
- Community access
- Personal care
- Domestic assistance
- Meal preparation
- Medication prompting
- Capacity building
- Transport to appointments
- Social and recreational activities
- Mental health support
- Behavioural support implementation
- Progress notes and documentation
- Working collaboratively with families and allied health professionals
Every participant is different, and you'll receive client-specific training before commencing supports.
Current Service Areas
We're currently recruiting support workers across several Brisbane service regions, and we aim to match staff to their preferred region wherever possible to reduce travel time and support consistent, long-term participant relationships. Our current focus is:
- North / Inner Brisbane: Brisbane City through the inner north and northside suburbs.
- South Brisbane / Logan: Brisbane City through to the southside and Logan corridor.
Additional opportunities become available regularly across Brisbane as our services grow. Applicants are encouraged to let us know which areas they're comfortable travelling to. Where possible, we roster support workers within one primary service region to minimise travel and maximise consistency for both staff and participants.
