IT Infrastructure Manager

Milestone IT is partnering with a leading enterprise organisation to appoint an experienced Infrastructure Manager to lead and evolve its core infrastructure environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically hands-on leader who enjoys balancing operational excellence with strategic improvement initiatives.

You will be responsible for managing a skilled infrastructure team while driving key technology initiatives, including the transition from VMware to Hyper-V and the ongoing development of the organisation's Microsoft ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee the current VMware environment, driving the strategic migration to Hyper-V.
- Manage, maintain and continuously improve the organisation's server and infrastructure landscape.
- Take ownership of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability and scalability.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring and support to the infrastructure team.
- Conduct performance reviews and performance management activities, fostering a high-performing culture.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver infrastructure solutions aligned with organisational objectives.
- Balance operational support responsibilities with project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure infrastructure services are secure, resilient and aligned with best practice.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, systems and service delivery.

You are a strong technical leader who is equally comfortable managing people and engaging with senior stakeholders. You have a collaborative approach and are passionate about building high-performing teams and modern infrastructure environments.
Skills and Experience

- Proven experience in an Infrastructure Manager, Infrastructure Team Lead or Senior Systems Engineering leadership role.
- Strong expertise across Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Experience managing enterprise server environments and infrastructure platforms.
- Exposure to VMware environments and experience leading or participating in Hyper-V migration projects.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Strong project delivery and continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
