The role

As a Complex Support Assistant (ICSU) you’ll deliver high-quality, person-led support across home, community, and therapeutic environments. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary mindset, implement behaviour support strategies, and contribute to a calm, predictable, and secure support environment.

You will:

- Provide daily living, community access, and skill-building supports tailored to individual needs

- Implement positive behaviour support plans and data-informed strategies

- Contribute to team stability: clear communication, consistent routines, strong boundaries

- Use reflective practice to adapt your approach and build participant capability over time

- Document accurately and collaborate with coordinators/clinicians as required

- Support safe environments using de-escalation and proactive risk-reduction strategies

About you

- Experience: Minimum 2–3+ years in disability (NDIS or similar) with exposure to Behaviour Support (implementing plans, collecting data, or working alongside BSPs)

- Mindset: Growth-oriented, coachable, reflective. You actively seek feedback and evolve your practice

- Adaptability:



You can adjust your style to what each person needs while maintaining safety and dignity

- Demeanour: Calm under pressure, professional boundaries, excellent written notes and team comms

- Availability: Willing to work a mix of shifts aligned to participant needs (incl. evenings/weekends if required)

- Communication style: Active listener, aims to understand the needs of those you support

Big plus (not essential):

- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training (or equivalent)

- Qualifications beyond Certificate III in Disability (e.g., Cert IV, Diploma, degree in human services, psych, social work, OT assistant, etc.)

- Experience in complex environments (PBS, trauma-informed, safeguarding, restrictive practice reduction)

Compliance & essentials

- (Preferred) NDIS Worker Screening/WWCC, First Aid/CPR, Driver’s Licence
