Join Our Team as a Catering Assistant!
We’re looking for enthusiastic Catering Assistants to become part of the vibrant kitchen team at our client’s aged care facility in Garran, ACT. If you’re passionate about great food and love making a difference in the daily lives of older Australians, this is the role for you!
This roster is ideal for candidates who enjoy variety, stability, and a well‑structured work pattern.
- ⏰ Choose your shifts: A mix of morning (7.00am till 2.00pm) and afternoon (3.00pm till 7.00pm) shifts across Monday to Friday.
- Adaptable roster: Enjoy flexible weekly hours, plus weekend and Public Holiday loadings
What You’ll Need
- A current Federal Police Check (or willingness to obtain one) is required for this role.
Skills and experience
- Aged Care experience is desirable, but not necessary.
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
- Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
- The ability to support the chefs and the team in a busy kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing meal service to elderly residents
- Cleaning of kitchen, serveries and dining room set up.
- Adhering to and completing quality assurance documents
- Washing dishes and plating of meals
- Preparing salads and sandwiches in the main kitchen
- Function set up and clear down.
- Assist the Chef and Chef Manager as required in day-to-day tasks.
