About Shade Skin Cancer Medicine

Shade Skin Cancer Medicine, led by Dr Emily Alfonsi, is a contemporary, patient-centred skin cancer clinic that is setting a recent standard in skin cancer medicine and patient care.

As our clinic continues to grow, we are looking for multiple experienced Medical Receptionists to join our team in full-time, part-time or casual capacities.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an integral role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greeting patients and ensuring they feel comfortable and well-informed

- Booking appointments and managing patient records

- Answering phone calls and handling queries

- Assisting with billing and administration tasks

- Appointment diary management with booking of patient consults and procedures

- Providing patients with additional procedure information and surgical estimates

- Coordinatingand booking post-operative follow up appointments

- Billing and receipting of patient accounts

- Liaising with Medicare, private health funds, insurers, hospitals and referrers.

- Supporting other staff with day-to-day administration of the practice

About You:

We're looking for someone with at least two years' experience in a medical practice who enjoys a varied role, is comfortable multitasking and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care.

You'll have a positive, patient-first approach, be happy to pitch in wherever needed,



and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

- Exceptional patient service with a positive, friendly attitude

- Strong work ethic and use of initiative

- Strong organisational and time management skills

- Ability to multitask and problem solve with uncompromising attention to detail

- Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to a dynamic setting

- Proficient computer skills, with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office

Experience:

- Minimum two years' experience in a medical practice is essential

- Experience in a skin cancer clinical setting is highly regarded

- Experience with Best Practice Management software is essential

- Experience with Medicare billing and Online Claiming is essential
