Aquinas College Perth
Perth
Aquinas has a proud boarding tradition and is home to 200 boarders, predominantly from regional and rural Western Australia. Each of our four Boarding Houses is led by a Director of Residence, who reports directly to the Head of Boarding. At Aquinas, we strive for excellence and are committed to empowering young men to lead meaningful lives. Inspired by Christ, we recognise the dignity of every person, promote inclusivity, and embrace diversity. Set on a beautiful campus overlooking the Canning River, Aquinas offers exceptional facilities and unique natural surrounds, creating an outstanding environment in which students and staff can thrive.

This is a unique chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the daily lives, wellbeing and growth of our boarding students within a values-driven, inclusive community.
At the heart of this role is an unwavering commitment to the care, safety and holistic development of students.
The Director of Residence provides visible, hands-on leadership across our residential community, ensuring every student is known, supported and able to thrive.
In this role you will:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with boarders, fostering a warm, respectful and inclusive residential environment
- Monitor and support each student’s emotional, social and academic wellbeing, intervening early and effectively where needed
- Create a positive culture that promotes belonging, resilience and personal growth
- Ensure students feel safe, heard and supported at all times
- Work closely with boarding staff, families and the Health Centre to respond to individual student needs
- Support student leadership development and meaningful participation in co-curricular, social and spiritual activities
As Director of Residence, you will help shape the boarding experience beyond supervision—creating a true home away from home.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position offered on a five-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.
As all Boarding Directors at the College undertake a part-time teaching load, the role is underpinned by a permanent teaching appointment.
