Venue Partnerships Team at ON THE HOUSE

A gap that shouldn't exist

Toilet paper is free in every bathroom. Period products aren't.

3 in 5 Australian women have used tissues, toilet paper or socks because the product they needed wasn't there when they needed it. Not because it's expensive. Because nobody built the infrastructure to put it in front of her.

At the same time, brands are spending more than ever to reach women, with worse results every year. $1 trillion a year on ads. Falling attention. Falling trust. Women control roughly 85% of household spending and most of that money is chasing them through channels they've learned to ignore.

Two broken markets. Nobody had connected them.

How it works

ON THE HOUSE installs vending machines in high-traffic bathrooms that double as digital billboards.

Brands pay to reach women in a zero-distraction, high-gratitude moment. Those ad dollars fund free, organic period products.

Every interaction is a two-way exchange: she walks away with something free and useful, and brands walk away with brand lift, transparent attribution, and a world-first kind of data: consented, transparent, verified, every time.

We’re live in venues like Accor and Hyatt Hotels, Dendy Cinemas, Dreamworld, Village Roadshow, and Revelop Shopping Centres.

We’re working with iconic brands like Afterpay, Frontier Touring, 2XU, and Pillow Talk.

We’re hearing amazing feedback from women:

"Thank you thank you thank you for taking the initiative to do something like this especially as women this is not something we can help so having a moment where we can have it provided is amazing. Thank you from one very thankful person, this helps for them you know :)""Thanks for providing such an important service to females that get caught out in public""I love that period product are made accessible at the gym. Now I can enjoy knowing that if you get your period you don't have to leave the gym for the product you need."

And this is just the beginning.

The Role

If you've spent your career sourcing kiosks, RMUs,

pop-ups or specialty tenants for a shopping centre or retail portfolio, OR you have worked for companies trying to get into shopping centres... you already have the exact instinct we need. We're just pointing it at a different kind of footprint, a free period product vending machine in a bathroom instead of a shopfront.

Same game. You're prospecting retail groups, building a pipeline, negotiating placement agreements (not full leases, no rent negotiation, no long lock in), and expanding your footprint across a whole portfolio once the first site proves out. The real difference is the tenant never underperforms and never leaves, because there's no rent for the venue to pay. It's free. We cover install, stock, maintenance, and insurance. Every specialty leasing person who hears this pitch says the same thing, it's the easiest yes they've ever gotten a landlord to.

You'll own a portfolio of retail groups and shopping centres, sourcing new sites the way you'd source specialty tenants, negotiating the placement agreement, then expanding across the group once you've proven the first site works.

In a year's time, we want you to be able to point at a portfolio and say: I did that. Every centre in that group has one because I put it there.

What You'll Own Sourcing & Placement

- Build and run a pipeline of target retail portfolios and shopping centres, the same prospecting instinct as sourcing specialty tenants
- Pitch the placement, negotiate terms, get to a signed agreement
- Work through internal approvals and stakeholder sign off, the same as you would for any specialty leasing deal
- Land the first site within a group, then expand across their full portfolio
- Own the ongoing relationship with every landlord or centre management contact in your patch

- Be the person they call first when they're thinking about their next vacancy or activation

Handoff

- Liaise with our install team to get sites live cleanly
- Make sure every partner feels genuinely looked after long after the deal is signed

Core outcomes: sites signed, portfolio-wide expansion within retail groups, retention.

What We're Really Looking For Must-haves

- Background in retail leasing, specialty leasing, shopping centre management, or landlord-side property (this is the one we're specifically looking for here)
- Great with people. Not just good, genuinely great. People trust you fast and enjoy dealing with you.
- Comfortable with contracts. Not a lawyer, but confident negotiating terms, pushing back, and working with a third-party legal provider on the edge cases.
- A strong pitcher. You can take a pitch that already exists, make it better, make it your own, and get someone to genuinely understand why we're great.
- Comfortable taking pushback and reframing it. Most objections we hear have a real answer, you just need to frame it up for them.

The kind of person you are

- Owns the whole machine: If something's broken, you don’t wait for someone else to fix it. You work out why, and you own it end to end. Here, that means a venue relationship is yours from first call to final install and beyond.
- Moves at speed: You'd rather get on the phone today than send a perfect email next week. Done gets you further than perfect, and you'd genuinely rather be hustling than waiting.
- Builds while it's live: Nothing here is finished yet, including the playbook for this exact role. You're fine building it while it's running. It's where you thrive.
- Bring the hype: You'll get a room fired up about their free vending machines, and their patrons that will love them for it, until it's the best thing that’s happened to them all year.
- Learn-it-all: Being wrong doesn’t bother you. Staying wrong does. You learn faster than the problem changes.
