About the role
Blissful Support Pty Ltd is seeking compassionate, reliable and dedicated Disability Support Workers and qualified Nurses to join our growing team in Shepparton.
This is a casual disability support position providing person-centred care to NDIS participants in their homes and within the community.
Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses are encouraged to apply; however, applicants must be comfortable working primarily in a disability support worker role, rather than an aged care or clinical nursing position.
About the Role
You will support participants to increase their independence, participate in the community and work towards their individual goals.
Duties may include:
- Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Supporting participants with meal preparation, cleaning, laundry and daily household tasks
- Providing community access and transport to appointments, activities, employment or education
- Supporting participants with medication in accordance with their support plans and organisational procedures
- Assisting with mobility, transfers and manual handling
- Supporting participants with social engagement and independent living skills
- Following behaviour support plans and responding appropriately to behaviours of concern
- Monitoring and reporting changes in a participant’s health, behaviour or wellbeing
- Completing accurate case notes, incident reports and other required documentation
- Maintaining participant privacy, dignity, choice and qualified boundaries
- Working collaboratively with participants, families and other members of their support team
Clinical tasks must only be completed where the employee is appropriately qualified, trained and authorised.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a related qualification
- Nursing qualifications as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse are highly regarded
- Previous experience in disability support, mental health, nursing or community services
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
- A current Working with Children Check, where required
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Access to a reliable and appropriately insured vehicle
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A person-centred approach to supporting people with disability
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability, flexibility and professional boundaries
- Availability to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, sleepovers and public holidays
Experience supporting participants with complex needs, mental health conditions, behaviours of concern or high-intensity support needs will be highly regarded.
