About Park
Park is an independent, Australian-owned fuel distributor based in the Illawarra. We supply fuel products and related services to industry, government and communities across NSW and interstate.
Safety, reliable service and responsible transport operations are central to our business.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Transport Allocator to coordinate fuel deliveries across the Illawarra, regional NSW and interstate.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role managing daily operations across a diverse fleet that includes OSR mini-tankers, rigid vehicles, semi-trailers and B-doubles. The role covers both linehaul movements and time-critical local deliveries completed by company drivers and transport contractors.
You will need to make sound operational decisions, respond confidently to changing circumstances and balance safety, compliance, customer service and cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and allocate daily fuel deliveries across local, regional and interstate operations.
- Match drivers, vehicles and contractors to each task, considering vehicle capacity, customer requirements, route restrictions and delivery timeframes.
- Optimise the utilisation of OSR mini-tankers, rigid vehicles, semi-trailers and B-doubles.
- Monitor live operations and adjust schedules in response to delays, breakdowns, customer changes and other operational issues.
- Coordinate company drivers and transport contractors to achieve protected and reliable delivery outcomes.
- Verify that allocations comply with fatigue-management requirements, driver work and rest hours, vehicle requirements and applicable road-transport obligations.
- Support compliance with NHVR requirements and Chain of Responsibility obligations, including fatigue, mass, loading and vehicle suitability.
- Liaise clearly and professionally with drivers, contractors, customers and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate allocation, scheduling and operational records.
- Monitor transport costs, including fleet utilisation, overtime, empty running and contractor usage.
- Identify and implement improvements to scheduling, routing, fleet utilisation and service performance.
- Escalate safety, compliance and service risks promptly and appropriately.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in transport allocation, scheduling or fleet coordination.
- Practical working knowledge of NHVR requirements and Chain of Responsibility obligations.
- Experience allocating a mixed heavy-vehicle fleet, including semi-trailers or B-doubles.
- Experience coordinating and managing third-party transport contractors.
- A strong understanding of fatigue management and safe transport-planning principles.
- The ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a time-critical operational environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to reorganise work quickly when conditions change.
- Clear,
confident communication skills, including the ability to have constructive conversations with drivers, contractors and customers.
- Strong organisation, record-keeping and attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the operational costs affected by allocation decisions.
- Competence using transport-management, scheduling or fleet-tracking systems.
Experience in fuel distribution, dangerous-goods transport or other regulated transport operations will be highly regarded.
Additional Requirements
- Participation in a rotating after-hours on-call roster.
- Successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, including a medical assessment, drug and alcohol screening and criminal-history check.
- The right to work in Australia.
Why Join Park?
- Join an established, locally owned business operating in an essential industry.
- Work with a varied fleet across local delivery and interstate linehaul operations.
- Take ownership of day-to-day allocation decisions and operational outcomes.
- Help improve transport systems, processes and fleet efficiency.
- Secure a stable, long-term position within a growing transport operation.
If you are an experienced allocator who understands that safe, compliant planning is fundamental to reliable customer service, we would like to hear from you.
Please apply with your résumé and a brief cover letter outlining your transport-allocation experience, knowledge of NHVR and Chain of Responsibility requirements, and experience working with heavy vehicles and transport contractors.
