Logan Central
Field Maintenance Officer
Things break. Things wear out. Things need fixing. That is where you come in.
Key points:
- Varied, hands-on work across a diverse range of Council facilities
- Permanent full time opportunity | 9-day fortnight
- Bring a willingness to learn and we teach you the role
Salary from: Stream B Level 5 $74,401/year + superannuation.
Location: Logan Central, QLD, 4114
We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full time Field Maintenance Officer to join the Corporate Property branch within Logan City Council.
Whether it's a door that won't shut properly, a workstation needing attention, a meeting room setup that just isn't working, or a maintenance issue that can't wait until tomorrow, you'll be the person helping keep Council's workplaces safe, functional and running smoothly. No two days will be the same. Some days you'll be responding to urgent requests. Other days you'll be completing planned maintenance or tackling the small jobs that make a big difference to the people who use our facilities every day.
If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality work, and gets satisfaction from seeing a job done properly, we'd love to hear from you.
Position responsibilities include:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across Council facilities.
- Complete minor repairs, installations and general building maintenance tasks.
- Respond to maintenance requests and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate contractor access and support the delivery of maintenance works.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, defects and safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and update work management systems.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who doesn't wait for problems to become bigger problems. Someone who notices the loose hinge, the damaged fitting or the maintenance issue that others may walk past. You'll bring practical maintenance experience, sound judgement and a robust commitment to safety. You'll be comfortable working independently, helping your teammates when needed and building positive working relationships with staff, contractors and stakeholders. Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, gets things done and takes pride in leaving things better than you found them.
Position responsibilities include:
- Roll up their sleeves and pitch in.
- Take pride in quality workmanship.
- Communicate well with customers and colleagues.
- Think about solutions, not just problems.
- Have a positive attitude and a good sense of humour.
Requirements:
To be considered for and employed in this position, applicants must satisfactorily complete the following pre-employment screening checks, as applicable:
- Work Rights
- Satisfactory references
- Functional Capacity Evaluation
- Construction Safety Induction (White Card) or the ability to obtain one
