We are currently recruiting for experienced proactive and safety conscious Commissioning Electrician for our Tier 1 client located in the Pilbara.

Roster: 2:1 FIFO, 12 hour days
Location: Site Based – WA
Hourly Rate: $93 per hour, Depending on Experience
Start – ASAP

Position Overview
The Commissioning Electrician is responsible for leading the commissioning, testing and installation of High Voltage systems and equipment, championing safety, standards and quality. This role delivers leadership and accuracy across the HV system activities, overseeing documentation and coordinating with key personnel.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct commissioning, functional testing, and energisation of HV electrical systems, such as control systems, switchgear, transformers, and protection relays
- Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and test procedures
- Test insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, and secondary injection
- Inspect and troubleshoot LV systems, electrical faults and non-conformances
- Calibrate, verify and validate instrumentation
- Ensure all work complies with AS/NZS 3000, AS 2067, and other applicable standards
- Maintain accurate test records and commissioning documentation
- Liaise with engineers, package managers, and OPS personnel to coordinate commissioning activities
- Adhere to all site safety, environmental, and quality procedures

Key Skills & Qualifications

- WA Electrical Licence
- HV Switching Operator certification
- Demonstrated experience in high-voltage installation and commissioning
- Strong understanding of protection and control systems
- High level of commitment to safety and compliance
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills




- Ability to work independently and within a commissioning team
- Current CPR/LVR and White Card
- Valid driver's licence
- First Aid

Experience

- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in mining, renewable energy, or high-voltage infrastructure, including AC and DC chargers
- Proven experience preparing and executing High Voltage switching including preparation of switching programs
- Knowledge of SCADA and protection relay systems (e.g., SEL, Schneider, Siemens)
- Familiarity with commissioning documentation and pre-commissioning processes
- Understanding of isolation and permitting systems
- Knowledge of WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations and relevant HV Legislation

If you are successful for this position you will need to provide a current national police clearance and pass a full medical.

Must have full rights to work in Australia.
