Senior Machine Learning Engineer - $170k + Bonus - Sydney (Hybrid 3 days in office)

We're looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer who enjoys taking models from concept through to production and building scalable ML solutions that deliver measurable business impact.
While the organisation's cloud platform is primarily Microsoft Azure, we're open to candidates from any major cloud ecosystem, including AWS and Google Cloud Platform. Strong engineering fundamentals and a willingness to learn are valued more than experience with a specific technology stack.

What You'll Be Doing

- Design, build and deploy production-grade machine learning models. (At interview you'll be asked to run through a project your proud of).
- Develop scalable ML pipelines and automation for training, deployment and monitoring.




- Collaborate with Scientists, Engineers, Product and the business to solve complex problems.
- Build solid MLOps capabilities focusing on model reliability and security
- Evaluate and implement modern ML frameworks, tools and best practices.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help establish engineering standards across the AI platform.
- Mentor junior engineers

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar ML Engineering role.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and experience building production applications.
- Experience deploying machine learning models into cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP).
- Knowledge of MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and container technologies.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn or XGBoost.
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts and working with large-scale datasets.
- Experience with APIs, microservices and contemporary software development practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Bonus:

- Exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) or AI agents.
