About the Role
A rewarding prospect exists for an experienced and community-focused Project Coordinator to support the delivery of the Remote Area Employment Services (RAES) Program across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.
Based in Warburton, Western Australia, this role offers the chance to work in one of Australia's most remote and culturally significant regions. Due to the location, this position is ideally suited to someone who is resilient, adaptable, enjoys working in regional and remote environments, and is passionate about supporting communities to achieve meaningful employment outcomes.
Operating on an 8 weeks on, 2 weeks off FIFO roster, the Project Coordinator will oversee community projects, supervise participants, and support employment and training pathways across remote Aboriginal communities. This is a highly hands-on role that combines project coordination, stakeholder engagement, participant mentoring, administration, and community development.
Reports To: RAES Project Manager – Pathways and Employment
Location: Warburton, Western Australia (Ngaanyatjarra Lands)
Roster: 8 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off (FIFO)
Travel: Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) to Warburton, WA, with regular travel across surrounding remote communities
Employment Type: Full-Time
A key focus of the position is working directly alongside participants, supporting attendance and engagement in activities, and helping individuals develop the skills, confidence, and experience needed to pursue sustainable employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Delivery
- Develop and implement community project plans in collaboration with local stakeholders and community representatives.
- Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of community projects and employment activities.
- Monitor project progress, milestones, outcomes, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Track project expenditure and assist with budget management and reporting.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with funding requirements.
- Prepare project updates, reports, and supporting documentation as required.
- Identify and assess community project opportunities and contribute to implementation planning.
Participant Support & Employment Pathways
- Supervise and support participants engaged in community projects and work-based activities.
- Assist participants in developing work readiness skills, confidence, and positive workplace behaviours.
- Complete and maintain Employment Support Plans aligned to individual goals and employment pathways.
- Support participants to access training, work experience, and employment opportunities.
- Encourage active participation and attendance across all program activities.
- Follow up barriers to participation and provide appropriate support where required.
- Assist participants in connecting with employment services and training providers.
Community Engagement & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with community members, local organisations, employers, and service providers.
- Consult with communities to identify relevant projects and employment opportunities.
- Promote participation in employment, training, and community development activities.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maximise participant outcomes.
- Identify emerging employment opportunities and contribute to pathway development activities.
Administration, Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate participant records, case notes, timesheets, and activity documentation.
- Record participant attendance and engagement using relevant systems and processes.
- Complete RJED hours tracking and associated administrative requirements.
- Process purchase orders and maintain supporting documentation.
- Ensure all reporting and record-keeping meets contractual, compliance, and funding requirements.
- Assist with milestone reporting, acquittals, and program reporting obligations.
Health, Safety & Operational Support
- Ensure activities are conducted safely and in a culturally respectful manner.
- Maintain activity sites, equipment, and tools to appropriate standards.
- Identify and report hazards, risks, and incidents in line with organisational procedures.
- Support safe project delivery across remote and regional locations.
- Ensure activity and work areas are clean, organised, and fit for purpose.

- The ability to work independently and adapt to remote living and working conditions.
- Cultural awareness and a respectful approach to working alongside Aboriginal communities.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience living or working in regional or remote Australia.
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities.
- Employment services, workforce development, training, or community program experience.
- Project management or community development experience.
- Knowledge of government-funded employment or community programs.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Four-wheel drive and remote travel experience.
Mandatory Requirements
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout remote communities in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.
- Ability to work on an 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO roster.
- Ability to fly in and out of Warburton, Western Australia.
- Comfortable living and working in a highly remote regional environment for extended periods.
