RM Surveys is looking for Service Locators and Senior Service Locators to join our growing Utility Mapping team. These roles support the safe and accurate identification, recording and documentation of underground services across a diverse range of projects.

About the role

Key responsibilities

- Service Locator: carry out utility locating using industry-leading equipment, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) - including Stream DP, electromagnetic locating devices, potholing and non-destructive digging tools.

- Service Locator: accurately record and document underground services in line with quality standards.

- Service Locator: assist with the safe use, care and maintenance of locating equipment.

- Senior Service Locator: lead utility mapping activities using advanced locating techniques.

- Senior Service Locator: provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior team members.

- Senior Service Locator: oversee reporting accuracy and support strong HSEQ compliance across all tasks.

- Senior Service Locator: contribute asset lifecycle data that informs the planning and design of major infrastructure projects,



collaborating with leading experts within their fields at RM Surveys.

About you

- Minimum 1 year of service locating or related field experience for Service Locator roles.

- Minimum 2 years of proven underground service locating experience for Senior Service Locator roles.

- Working knowledge of GPR and electromagnetic locating devices, with training available for the right candidate where appropriate.

- Strong attention to detail, sound organisational skills and a proactive approach.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with clients and team members.

- Strong commitment to safety, quality and HSEQ compliance.

Mandatory requirements

- Valid Australian driver’s licence.

- White Card.

- Certloc accreditation is mandatory for Senior Service Locator roles and preferred, or a willingness to obtain, for Service Locator roles.

Desirable but not essential

- ATCO High-Pressure Gas accreditation.

- Concrete scanning or surveying experience.

- DCAC clearance.

- Recent police clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
