Perth

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in Design and are willing to learn new skills in digital production, or perhaps learning the business side of quoting and attracting new clients?

We are looking for someone to work across all aspects of design and production with a possible interest in other areas. This role is for a full-time Graphic Designer with demonstrable print experience to join our team at Worldwide West Perth. If you are willing to work in a fast-paced environment where speed, quality, consistency, and quick turnarounds are paramount, this is the ideal opportunity for you.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is the strict minimum requirement for this role. You must be completely confident jumping into client-supplied artwork, identifying errors, and fixing file setups independently from day one.

The good news? Our experienced team will fully support, guide, and train you on all other operational aspects of the business, including print production, finishing machinery, and quoting.

Our Team

Our close-knit team provides a wide variety of solutions for clients across a diverse range of industries and products. We frequently face and manage a range of design and production challenges across a broad spectrum of print solutions that will ensure you are continuously engaged to find new and better solutions. We are passionate about our purpose and are excited about finding the right person whose own goals and values align with ours.

Core Graphic Design & Prepress Requirements

- Advanced skills Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat are crucial. Technical execution and file accuracy are far more critical to us than abstract creativity.

- Advanced Production Setup: Knowledge of bleed, trims, safe zones, margins, folds, pagination, rich black, and CMYK/spot colours. Confidence setting up complex layers for various equipment (e.g., Spot UV layers, dielines, kiss-cut paths, and contour cut paths) for both small format and wide-format signage workflows.

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years and/or a strong, demonstrable portfolio of production-ready print/prepress design work.

Graphic Design & Prepress Duties

- Reviewing, editing, and fixing customer-supplied artwork within tight timeframes to protect the production workflow.

- Creating clean impositions, print layouts, and simple finished designs for business customers.

- Going through artwork briefs with colleagues and clients via phone, email, and face-to-face.

- Monitoring workflows, prioritising daily tasks, and recording time spent on jobs for costing purposes.

The "All-Rounder" Bonus Roles (Not Required – Our Team Will Guide You!)

If you have experience in these secondary areas,

or simply have a motivated attitude to learn them on the job, it is highly regarded:

- Customer Service & Quoting: Greeting walk-in clients, taking briefs, and calculating/following up on estimates using "Quote and Print" software.

- Digital Print Production & Finishing: Learning to operate digital production presses or wide-format signage equipment, and assisting with physical finishing tasks (cutting, laminating, binding).

- Dispatch & Stock Control: Handling picking and packing, calculating courier/freight costs, and monitoring stock levels.

Production & General Requirements

- A motivated attitude, high attention to detail, and a strong ability to problem-solve.

- Computer literacy with basic Microsoft Excel proficiency.

- Confident with heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and general print studio upkeep.

- Ability to work under pressure in a small team environment as well as unsupervised when required.

What We Offer

- Job Security: Full-time employment with a stable, Monday-to-Friday (no weekends, and a guaranteed 2 week break for the Christmas and New Year Holidays).

- Great Culture: A team-oriented, supportive, and close-knit local team where your technical precision is highly valued.

- Competitive Package: Remuneration is flexible and will be based on your design capability and the level of responsibility you can take on.
