We are partnering with an established passenger transport operator to appoint an experienced Workshop Manager to lead their maintenance operations in Kyneton.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced heavy vehicle professional to take ownership of fleet reliability, workshop performance, and team leadership within a safety-focused transport environment.

About The Role

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Workshop Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance workshop, ensuring the safe, effective, and reliable servicing, repair, and upkeep of a heavy vehicle fleet.

You will lead a team of maintenance professionals, coordinate workshop activities, drive continuous improvement, and ensure fleet availability meets operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate workshop operations, maintenance activities, and daily prioritiesManage, coach, and support a team of maintenance personnelOversee servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance programsEnsure fleet reliability, compliance, and operational readinessMonitor workshop performance, productivity,



and quality standardsManage safety practices and ensure WHS compliance across the workshopMaintain accurate maintenance records and fleet documentationIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and workshop performanceLiaise with operations teams to prioritise repairs and minimise vehicle downtime

About You To be successful, you will have:

Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Heavy Vehicle) or equivalentProven experience managing or supervising a heavy vehicle workshop environmentStrong knowledge of fleet maintenance systems and workshop practicesExperience leading, mentoring, and developing maintenance teamsExcellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while managing competing prioritiesStrong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellenceCurrent driver’s licence (heavy vehicle experience highly regarded)
