Network & Security Engineer Perth | 5-Month Contract | NV1 Preferred

QIX Consulting is partnering with a leading client to engage an experienced Network & Security Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity based in Perth.
This role is ideal for an infrastructure professional with solid expertise across enterprise networking and security technologies who enjoys working in complex, high-availability environments.
About the RoleAs the Network & Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure while ensuring security, stability, and performance across the environment.You'll work across routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, VPNs, cloud networking, and security technologies while providing Level 2/3 support and contributing to ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and support LAN, WAN, WLAN and SD-WAN environmentsConfigure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and network servicesPerform upgrades, patching, security hardening and system maintenanceMonitor network performance,



availability and capacityProvide Level 2/3 troubleshooting across networking and security platformsImplement network security policies, procedures and best practicesWork within change management processesCollaborate with vendors and internal technical teams to resolve complex issuesSupport cloud networking across AWS and Azure environments
Skills & ExperienceWe're looking for professionals with experience across:5+ years' experience as a Network or Network Security EngineerCisco networking (routing, switching, wireless and voice)Check Point FirewallsPalo Alto FirewallsF5 Load BalancersVPN technologies and network securityLAN/WAN, SD-WAN and enterprise networkingAWS and/or Microsoft Azure networkingStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsExperience working independently in enterprise environments
Desirable CertificationsCCNA or CCNPCheck Point CCSA or CCSEPalo Alto PCNSA or PCNSEF5 Certified AdministratorAWS Advanced Networking or Azure Networking certificationsNV1 Security Clearance (Highly Desirable)
