Cliffside Grocers is an independent neighbourhood grocer and coffee shop in Nightcliff, Darwin. We're passionate about exceptional coffee, house-made pastries, fresh grab-and-go food and quality products, all delivered with genuine customer service.

Our kitchen is production-focused, creating food for our retail offering rather than made-to-order service. If you enjoy producing high-quality food in a well-organised environment—without the pressure of lunch or dinner service—we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Chef, Pastry Chef or Production Cook to join our growing team.

This role is approximately 20 hours per week, typically worked across:

- Friday

- Saturday

- Monday

Start and finish times are flexible and can be tailored to suit the right candidate. This role could be ideal for a parent returning to the workforce, with hours that can be worked around school drop-offs, pick-ups and other family commitments where possible.

As the business continues to grow, there is potential for additional hours and, for the right candidate, the opportunity to transition into a full-time position.

Your Responsibilities

- Bake pastries, cakes and other baked goods

- Prepare sandwiches, salads and ready-made meals

- Produce high-quality grab-and-go food





- Maintain consistency, presentation and food quality

- Assist with recipe and product development

- Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen

- Provide occasional front-of-house and POS support when required

About You

You'll ideally have:

- Commercial kitchen experience as a Chef, Pastry Chef or Production Cook (qualifications are welcomed but not essential)

- A passion for producing quality food

- Solid attention to detail and pride in your work

- The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively

- A sound understanding of food safety and kitchen organisation

- A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a small team

- Confidence interacting with customers when required

Requirements

- Australian working rights are essential

- Working Holiday Visa applicants may be considered depending on their remaining length of stay

- Sponsorship is NOT available
