Reporting to the Finance Manager (Projects), the Financial Accountant is responsible for preparation of the general ledger reconciliations and assisting with the timely preparation of monthly financial statements and audited statutory financial accounts.

This role is responsible for all activities relating to the preparation of the operating budgets and forecasts and the corresponding financial statement budget and forecasts.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

- Prepare monthly financial statements, statutory accounts and financial reporting for HanRoy entities and the Hanrine Foundation.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records, trial balances, reconciliations and supporting financial documentation.
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journals, accruals, adjustments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and disclosures in line with Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS and Corporations Act 2001 requirements.
- Research, interpret and document technical accounting treatments for complex or non-routine transactions.
- Coordinate external audit requirements,



including audit schedules, supporting documentation and auditor enquiries.
- Monitor changes to accounting standards, taxation legislation and reporting requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial statement budget preparation across relevant entities.
- Prepare financial information, analysis and reports for senior stakeholders, the Board and Hancock Prospecting.
- Maintain and improve financial controls, accounting policies, governance frameworks and reporting processes.
- Support and oversee Treasury and Accounts Payable functions to optimise cash flow, maintain effective working capital management and ensure the timely payment of suppliers in accordance with the Security of Payments Act (SOPA).
- Manage Public Ancillary Fund (PAF) financial reporting, audit coordination, compliance obligations and regulatory lodgements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to provide technical accounting advice and support informed decision-making.
- Support the Finance Manager with financial reporting, governance initiatives and strategic finance activities.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
- CA ANZ or CPA Australia qualification is highly regarded.
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in financial accounting,



statutory reporting, audit or a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS, Corporations Act 20001 reporting requirements and relevant taxation obligations.
- Demonstrated experience preparing statutory financial statements, disclosures, reconciliations, journals and month-end reporting deliverables.
- Experience coordinating external audits, preparing audit schedules and managing auditor queries.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capability and strong ERP or financial systems experience.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a complex reporting environment.
