The Satcom Network Engineer will work as part of a small technical and operational team to support ADF Wideband and Narrowband operations on a 24/7 shift roster based in Canberra.

Responsibilities include tier 1 management of the Australian Defence Satellite Communications Capability (ADSCC), maintaining a record log of interactions, and liaising with key stakeholders for fault escalation and service assurance activities.

An Australian Government Security Clearance at a minimum NV1 is required.

Proven experience in telecommunications systemsUnderstanding of Digital Communication Techniques, satellite transmission, microwave and RF principles, modulation and inter-modulation, network connectivity, and antenna principlesMinimum Secret (NV1) Security ClearanceKnowledge of computer OS (Unix and MS) and network skillsCrisis Management and Business Recovery skillsHigh level of literacy in Database, Word Processing,



and Spreadsheet applicationsUnderstanding of ITIL practices
