JLC Associates is a boutique Chartered Accounting practice located in the heart of Subiaco, WA. We have experienced significant growth in both our client base and the range of advisory and compliance services we provide. As a result, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Intermediate Accountant to join our growing team.

About the Role

As an Intermediate Accountant, you will work closely with our Directors and Senior Accountants and your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs and individuals.

- Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) and other compliance obligations.

- Assisting with tax planning and year-end tax strategies.

- Preparing monthly management reports and providing ongoing support to clients.

- Liaising with clients to respond to queries and assist with their accounting and taxation needs.

- Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), ASIC and other regulatory authorities.

- Internal accounting and reconciliation for some clients where required.

- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional service.

- Supporting the Directors and Senior Accountants with business advisory and taxation projects.

- Providing general accounting support and assisting with ad hoc projects as required.

About You

You are enthusiastic, organised, and eager to learn.



Essentially, you’ll bring:

- CA or CPA qualification in progress, or a genuine intention to commence.

- At least 2–3 years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.

- Experience preparing financial statements and income tax returns for a range of entity types.

- A sound understanding of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

- The ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.

- Experience with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, FYI, Microsoft Office and, ideally, BGL Simple Fund 360.

- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine passion for helping clients achieve their business and financial goals.
