JLC Associates is a boutique Chartered Accounting practice located in the heart of Subiaco, WA. We have experienced significant growth in both our client base and the range of advisory and compliance services we provide. As a result, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team.

About the Role
As a Senior Accountant your responsibilities will include
- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs and individuals.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and assist with year-end tax strategies.
- Preparing monthly management reports and providing ongoing client support, including attending monthly meetings and business review discussions where required.
- Review the work of junior accountants and provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring.
- Liaise directly with third parties - Australian Taxation Office (ATO), ASIC and other regulatory authorities.
- Assist with workflow management and contribute to continuous improvement of firm processes.
- Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships through exceptional service.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Australian taxation legislation, accounting standards and compliance requirements.
- Supporting the Directors with a range of business advisory and taxation matters where/when required.
- General accounting and administrative support
About You
You are enthusiastic, organised, and eager to learn. Essentially, you’ll bring:
- CA or CPA qualification.
- 5+ years' experience in Australian public practice accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance.
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for a broad range of entities.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to prioritise multiple deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Experience with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, FYI, BGL Simple Fund 360 (desirable) and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine passion for helping clients achieve their goals.
