ABOUT US
Unleashing Unlimited Potential
Every child deserves the chance to explore their potential, find joy, and build a hopeful future. However, many of the children we support have been denied these opportunities due to economic hardship, family instability, trauma, or social isolation.
At The Portsea Camp, we’re rewriting their stories. Through structured, evidence-informed programs that go far beyond recreation, we empower children with confidence, resilience and real-world life skills. Our goal is not to just give them a week of happiness—but to fundamentally alter the trajectory of their lives.
Rooted in a proud legacy dating back to the 1940s, The Portsea Camp today is a thriving community of staff, volunteers and young people from across metropolitan and rural Victoria. Each year, we support over 10,000 children and welcome more than 250 volunteers. Through a deep connection to nature, social connection, outdoor adventure and trauma-informed care, we help children grow into healthier, happier versions of themselves—because every child deserves the chance to shine.

As an Experiences Leader, you’ll lead engaging, adventure-filled activities that help children grow in confidence, connection, and joy. Whether it's high ropes, kayaking, beach hikes, creativity, or wellbeing workshops, you’ll guide campers safely and joyfully through experiences they’ll never forget.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re energetic, reliable, and love working outdoors with young people. We’re especially keen to hear from those with experience in camp, education, recreation, or youth work—but if you’ve got the right attitude and passion, we’ll provide the training to back it up.
