About the Role

We are seeking a versatile, customer-focused Console Operator to join our Bellevue team. This role directly supports our core team by covering at least 2 closing shifts per week, alongside regular daytime shifts.

No 24-hour overnight shifts! Our store closes at 10:00 PM, giving you the benefit of evening work without all-night hours.

Key Responsibilities

- Customer Service Excellence: Greet customers warmly, process sales accurately at the POS, and deliver friendly service during both busy day rushes and late evening hours.
- Forecourt Safety & Pump Authorisation: Monitor the forecourt closely, safely authorize fuel pumps, and strictly follow safety protocols regarding drive-offs or hazards.
- Stocking & Merchandising: Restock shelves, fridges, and displays continuously enforcing strict FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation to ensure fresh stock.
- Store Cleanliness & Closing Routine: Maintain top-tier store cleanliness throughout the day and execute store-closing procedures when on night duty (locking up at 10:00 PM).
- Conflict De-escalation & Safety: Remain calm, composed, and firm when managing challenging customer behavior or potential theft attempts, particularly during late shifts.





Requirements & Qualifications

- Roster Flexibility: Mandatory availability for at least 2 closing shifts per week (finishing around 10:15 PM), plus availability for either morning (5am-10am) or daytime (10am-4pm) shifts.
- Resilience & Confidence: Evening shifts can occasionally bring challenging customer interactions or attempted shoplifting. You must be assertive, level-headed, and comfortable setting firm boundaries while prioritising safety.
- Attention to Detail: Pride in store presentation, facing shelves, and diligent stock rotation.
- Reliability & Transport: Dependable, punctual, and possessing reliable personal transport to commute before or after store operating hours of 5:00AM - 10:00 PM.
- Experience: Previous console operator, service station, or retail/cash handling experience is highly regarded (training provided).

A Note on Closing Shifts:

Late-afternoon and evening shifts require someone who is not easily intimidated. While delivering great customer service is key, you must be confident handling difficult customers or low-level conflict calmly while following strict safety guidelines.
