We take great care to provide safe, and competitive seaport services to efficiently facilitate imports and exports through our Queensland ports.
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Manager – Assets Services to lead NQBP’s asset management strategy, asset planning, lifecycle optimisation and asset performance governance across all North Queensland Bulk Ports (NQBP) infrastructure assets.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager Infrastructure and Operations, the Senior Manager – Asset Services will:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction across the asset reliability and optimisation function to meet corporate goals.
- Ensure asset reliability, performance and risk are monitored through effective asset management systems, inspection regimes and maintenance strategies, with maintenance and operational delivery managed by the accountable delivery teams.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve NQBP Asset Management System, Asset Management Plans and Geospatial Information systems for all port locations, in accordance with industry best practice and Government requirements.
- Coordinate activities of internal and external resources to provide asset management services, including asset inspections, permits, requirements for acquisitions, recommended upgrades and/or maintenance to assets, renewals and disposals, in accordance with the SAP and Long-Term Development Plans.
- Ensure the scheduling of asset management tasks and activities are monitored, correctly processed and non-compliances reported to relevant managers for action, in accordance with the Asset Management System.
- Develop KPIs to enable the measurement of continuous improvement for both planning and undertaking maintenance activities.
- Develop and maintain processes/system to capture asset lifecycle costs for all NQBP assets.
- Develop and manage budgets allocation for asset services including operational expenditure across the entire business, to ensure value for money for the useful life of assets of strategic importance.
About you
You are an accomplished Asset Engineer professional with exceptional strategic capability,
leadership experience, and technical expertise in asset management strategies. You are proactive, analytical and have system and problems solving thinking with sound judgement.
Essential qualifications and experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering / Asset Management from a recognised tertiary institute or similar.
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland or eligibility to obtain RPEG registration within an agreed timeframe.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic asset management, lifecycle asset planning and asset management systems, including alignment with ISO 55001 principles or equivalent asset management frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and monitoring asset management strategies, asset management plans, maintenance strategies, inspection regimes, condition monitoring requirements and intervention priorities.
- Strong leadership capability, including experience leading multidisciplinary teams, setting performance expectations, developing capability and aligning team priorities with organisational objectives.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Experience with infrastructure asset management in a port, marine, transport, heavy industry,
- resources or otherregulated operating environment.
- Experience with asset management information systems,
geospatial information systems, digital asset data, asset performance dashboards or related digital tools.
- Experience supporting capital, maintenance and renewal investment planning through asset condition, risk, reliability and lifecycle cost analysis.
- Experience in contract administration, procurement, claims management or governance of asset-related projects and programs.
- Experience in managing dredging activities and quarry maintenance activities.
