If you enjoy payroll but also want to enjoy the team you work with, this could be a great next move.
We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our close-knit, supportive and genuinely collaborative team at UniSC’s Sunshine Coast campus in Sippy Downs. This is a full-time, campus-based position, ideal for someone who enjoys working alongside their colleagues, sharing knowledge, solving problems together and being part of the day-to-day energy of a team.
Along with an ongoing position, you’ll enjoy *five weeks’ annual leave, up to 17% employer superannuation and the benefits of working within a growing university environment.
As part of our People and Culture team, you’ll help deliver UniSC’s fortnightly payroll and ensure our people are paid accurately and on time. You’ll provide trusted advice across payroll, superannuation, taxation and employment conditions, while helping us continually improve the way we work and the service we provide.
It’s an opportunity to bring your payroll expertise to a team where accuracy matters, people help each other out, and there’s plenty of room for a laugh along the way.
You will
- contribute to the accurate and timely delivery of UniSC’s fortnightly payroll;
- provide practical and trusted advice across payroll, superannuation and employment conditions;
- interpret relevant legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures;
- respond to payroll enquiries and provide a positive service experience for staff across the University; and
- contribute ideas and expertise to continuously improve our payroll processes and systems.
About you
You’re an experienced payroll professional who enjoys getting the detail right and being someone others can rely on.
You’ll be comfortable working with complex payroll requirements, interpreting employment conditions and legislation, and resolving enquiries with accuracy and good judgement. Just as importantly, you enjoy being part of a team. You’re collaborative, approachable and willing to pitch in when things get busy.
You’ll bring:
- demonstrated experience delivering accurate payroll processes within a large or complex organisation;
- sound knowledge of superannuation, taxation and relevant payroll legislation;
- experience interpreting employment conditions, policies, procedures and guidelines;
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including reporting and spreadsheet capability;
- experience using a complex HRIS,
with PeopleSoft experience highly regarded; and
- strong communication, organisation and customer service skills.
This position is based full-time at our UniSC Sunshine Coast campus in Sippy Downs. Our payroll team works closely together on campus, and we see this as an important part of the collaborative, supportive team environment we’ve built.
