About the Role:
The contractor administrator position exists to promote, implement and protect the commercial interests of the GE Renewable Energy business. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, this role is responsible for providing support to the Project Manager and wider project team on a key Onshore Wind project.
The role is demanding and will provide its fair share of challenges in a competitive industry. The right person will find it extremely rewarding and will receive great support within a positive and progressive workplace.
Role Type: 12 month contract with view to extend;
Location Preference is Melbourne - however for the right candidate WFH anywhere Eastern Seaboard
Regular Travel to project site
Must have worked on large infrastructure projects circa $500 mill +
Role Responsibilities
• Implement effective contract management processes and procedures to ensure that all downstream commercial issues and risks are properly identified, managed and resolved.
• Provide support to the project team so they are aware of our contractual obligations.
• Assist the project team assess and monitor the Subcontractors works and construction programs to ensure that the Subcontractor will achieve the contractual time schedule commitments
• Attend site meetings when required.
• Prepare contract notices and other contractual correspondence required for issue to the Subcontractor, including variation requests, non-conformances, notices of delay and the like.
• Draft relevant extensions of time and variations required for the project within the designated time frames.
• Update and maintain registers relating to notices of delay, extensions of time and variations
• Review, assess and where required provide recommendations on the evaluation of Subcontractor variations and claims. Assist the Project Manager in the agreement and finalisation of such issues with the Subcontractors.
• Review and assess all Subcontractor payment claims and issue the required payment schedules in accordance with the relevant security of payment act provisions.
• Assist the project team process all Supplier/ Sub-Contractor payments, in accordance with strict contractual timeframes. Function/ Corporate
• Build and maintain communication and collaborative partnerships with internal business partners.
• Conduct the relevant contractual and commercial training for business partners.
• Provide regular reports to internal business partners.
• Assist in the identification, reporting and management of business risks and participate as required in any investigation process undertaken
About You:
• Tertiary qualified (degree in Engineering, Business, Law or Quantity Surveying advantageous)
• Contract Administrator experience within the Construction industry (ideally working on large infrastructure/ renewable projects)
• Proficiency with the use of written Contracts, Specifications and other project documentation.
• High level of contractual analytical skills.
• Knowledge of the Security of Payments legislation.
• Proficiency with relevant design and construction standards.
• Knowledge of Construction Insurances.
• Knowledge of Scheduling and Time Impact Analysis.
• Knowledge of Document Management Systems, e.g Sharepoint, Aconex
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.
• Robust negotiation, time management skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work alone to self-imposed deadlines but also work as part of the project team.
• Positive, proactive, passionate and eager to learn and succeed.
