Our school is looking for a Passionate, Proactive and Positive Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team of staff in our Wellbeing Team. This team includes Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Autism Specialists, Trauma Informed Specialists, Mental Health Specialists, Education Support, Leading Teachers and Principal Class employees.

Located on beautiful Wurundjeri Country, Strathtulloh Primary School has been educating with HEART since 2022. We are a brand-new state of the art school, located in the suburb of Strathtulloh. We opened in January 2022 with 710 students already growing to over 1250 students and now employing over 150 staff in 2026.

Our students are phenomenal learners, supported by a community which really values and supports education and our school. School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) and Respectful Relationships (RR) feature strongly at our school, along with a culture that supports positive, proactive and passionate wellbeing and learning for students and staff. Selection Criteria

Your application must specifically address each of the selection criteria below:

SC1 The ability to work as an effective and positive member of a multidisciplinary school wellbeing team.

SC2 Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the development of a comprehensive social work service to students and families throughout a primary school.

SC3 The capacity to develop and implement social work programs as well as facilitate individual and group learning for students, families and staff.

SC4 Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of professionals, teachers and parents on service delivery and student based issues and to be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

SC5 Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to meet and exceed deadlines and display proactive and positive initiative.

SC6 Demonstrated ability to write reports and recommendations to support funding applications for identified students.

SC7 Demonstrated ability to follow direction and adhere to school and department processes and procedures.

Role

Attendance requirement for this position - Full-time position.

Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised qualified roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Responsibilities

- Manage the delivery of support services to students, teachers, parents and other school clients.
- Ensure all external providers deliver the required service.

Who May Apply

Required:

- Applicants must be qualified as a social worker and be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers, or hold membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers and an Accredited Social Worker Trade Mark.
- A current Working With Children Check.
