About our Operation
Kimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Operation (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon and leucoxene, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role
Residing in the West Kimberley and reporting to the Superintendent Processing, this is an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor Processing to join our growing mining company on a 12-month, fixed-term contract.
This role will provide leadership and direction to processing personnel, ensuring the team are working in an effective and efficient manner to allow safety, production and cost KPIs to be achieved.
Site based roster: 8 Days on 6 Days off, 7 Nights on 7 Days off
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day leadership and direction to the processing crew
- Maintaining WCP and CUP operating parameters to meet production requirements
- Liaising with Metallurgists on operating conditions and technical matters
- Completing operational checks and workplace inspections
- Ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Developing team members' skills and capabilities
- Supporting inter-departmental collaboration across the operation
About You
- 5 years’ relevant experience in mineral processing plant, with 2 years’ experience in a leadership role
- Current S26 qualification
- Completion of Certificate III or IV in Process Plant Operations or relevant trade
- Hold a current WA C-Class driver’s licence
- Current vocational tickets for Confined Space, Working at Heights, First Aid and Bobcat / Front End Loader (FEL) operation, or willingness to obtain
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in control room operations
