About the role

Kenny’s maintenance and electrical is seeking a reliable and experienced Handyperson to join our growing Adelaide team.

This is a full-time position with an immediate start available.

The role involves completing a variety of property-maintenance and repair work across residential, commercial and rental properties throughout Adelaide. A strong background in professional painting and surface preparation is preferred, as painting will form an important part of the role.

You will work independently and alongside our maintenance team, with opportunities to take on more responsibility and earn better pay as your skills and performance develop.

What you’ll be doing

- Completing general property-maintenance and repair work.

- Completing interior and exterior painting.

- Preparing and painting walls, ceilings, doors, frames and skirting boards.

- Completing minor plaster repairs, patching, filling and sanding.

- Repairing and adjusting doors, locks, handles and door stops.

- Installing and repairing blinds, curtain rods, shelving and fixtures.

- Repairing flyscreens and screen doors.

- Completing minor carpentry and timber repairs.

- Replacing damaged skirting boards and trims.

- Completing minor silicone, grouting and tiling repairs.

- Completing minor garden, external and general maintenance tasks when required.

- Identifying and reporting additional damage or maintenance issues.

- Taking clear before-and-after photos and providing accurate job notes.

- Communicating professionally with tenants, property managers and clients.

- Keeping tools, the company vehicle and work areas clean and organised.

- Removing waste and leaving every property clean and tidy.

- Working safely and following company procedures.

What we’re looking for

- A strong background in professional painting and surface preparation is preferred.

- Previous handyperson or property-maintenance experience is highly regarded.





- Ability to complete a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to a professional standard.

- Good practical skills and problem-solving ability.

- Experience working in residential and rental properties is highly regarded.

- Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.

- Ability to work independently and manage your daily schedule.

- Reliable, punctual and committed to completing work properly.

- Good communication and customer-service skills.

- Ability to accurately record completed work and report additional issues.

- Current Australian driver’s licence.

- Construction Industry White Card.

- Own basic hand tools.

- Ability to pass a police clearance if required.

- Australian working rights.

Trade qualifications are preferred but not essential for an experienced applicant who can demonstrate a broad range of maintenance skills and a high standard of workmanship.
