We are looking for experienced Disability Support Workers to provide quality supports to participants with a range of disabilities, with a preference for applicants who have experience supporting people on the autism spectrum.
You will work closely with participants to promote independence, build capacity, and support them to participate in their communities while delivering care that is respectful, safe, and aligned with NDIS Practice Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support in accordance with individual support plans.
- Assist with daily living activities, personal care, meal preparation, and domestic assistance.
- Support participants with community access, social engagement, and skill development.
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies where required.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and incident reporting.
- Build positive, professional relationships with participants, families, and allied health professionals.
- Uphold participant rights, dignity, choice, and privacy at all times.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or Certificate III in Disability (essential).
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid).
- Current CPR/Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain).
- Current Working with Children Check (where required).
- Current National Police Clearance.
- Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
- Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle suitable for transporting participants.
- Smartphone for rostering, communication,
and documentation.
- Current evidence of COVID-19 and any other required vaccinations in accordance with applicable public health directions and organisational requirements.
- Full Australian working rights.
Desirable
- Previous experience supporting participants with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Experience working with participants who have complex support needs.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed practice.
- Medication Administration competency (or willingness to obtain).
- Manual Handling competency.
- Experience using NDIS documentation systems.
