We are seeking an experienced and reliable Motor Mechanic to join our Cairns team. Our business operates a standardised fleet of new and used rental vehicles, this role is responsible for ensuring all vehicles are serviced, repaired, and maintained to a safe and consistent standard.
This is a hands‑on workshop role within a small team. Full Head Office support and uniform provided.
Skills
- Qualified Motor Mechanic (Cert III Light Vehicle or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
- Experience with vehicles from 80's to new
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
- Positive communication skills
- Current driver’s licence
What you will be doing
1. Perform scheduled servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles
2. Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently
3.
Complete safety checks and roadworthy‑related tasks as required
4. Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
5. Prepare vehicles for rental readiness (cleanliness, safety, mechanical condition)
6. Assist with workshop organisation, parts management, and general housekeeping
7. Liaise with store management regarding vehicle downtime, repair priorities, and fleet rotation
