Logan Steel is seeking an experienced and qualified Crane Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for operating cranes and lifting equipment to safely move materials and components across our construction and steel manufacturing operations.
We mainly work a 50 hour week, Monday to Friday on sites around South-East Qld.
An immediate start is available to the right applicant.
Key responsibilities
- Conducting pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on crane equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition
- Communicating effectively with ground personnel, riggers and other team members using hand signals, radio communications and visual indicators
- Positioning loads accurately and safely at designated locations, taking into account site conditions and environmental factors
- Monitoring load weights and ensuring they do not exceed crane capacity limits
- Recording operational data, including hours worked, loads lifted and any incidents or equipment issues
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations, company policies and industry best practices at all times
- Participating in toolbox meetings, safety briefings and ongoing training to maintain competency and awareness
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns or near-miss incidents to supervisors immediately
What we're looking for
- Minimum C6 Licence, HR Licence and Construction Induction White Card
- Proven experience operating mobile cranes or similar heavy lifting equipment in construction or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of load charts,
rigging procedures and safe lifting practices
- Ability to work safely at heights and in challenging environmental conditions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards and a genuine passion for incident-free operations
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks as required
- Familiarity with steel construction and manufacturing environments is highly desirable
- Someone who is willing to get out of the crane and assist riggers when crane is not in use
