The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35 minute drive from the Perth CBD providing the opportunity to work in a varied planning environment, from rural natural bushland to highly developed residential, commercial and industrial areas.

About this Opportunity

The Risk Management Advisor is a newly established position that will play a pivotal part in strengthening the City's governance, assurance and organisational resilience frameworks. Reporting to Manager Governance, the position is responsible for coordinating and continuously improving the City's risk management systems, ensuring that strategic, operational and project risks are identified, assessed, monitored and reported effectively.

The role provides specialist advice and guidance to managers and staff across the organisation, promotes a positive risk culture, and supports informed decision-making through the application of contemporary risk management principles and best practice standards. Working collaboratively across all areas of the organisation, the position will drive continuous improvement in governance, compliance, risk management and organisational performance.

Key experience and knowledge required for this position:

1. Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 31000: Risk management principles and frameworks
2. Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 22301 Security and resilience – Business Continuity Management systems
3. Demonstrated experience in implementing Risk Frameworks;
4. Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, establish and maintain strong and productive working relationships;
5. Demonstrated experience in the preparation and delivery of training related to risk within a local government context;
6.



Familiarity with internal audit methodology and assurance processes;

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight, with a rostered day off arrangement available.

About the Benefits

This position offers a salary of $102,391 – $108,637 per annum, (depending on experience and skill level) plus superannuation.
