The Team

Renal Services - North - has a Satellite Dialysis Unit, within the Launceston Community Health Centre, 22 McHugh Street, Kings Meadows. The Hospital Aide (Operational Health Officer) position, provides support to Nursing Staff, who are providing Haemodialysis treatments to a group of patients who have Chronic Kidney Disease and require dialysis three times per week. The Satellite Unit is open 6 days per week (Monday - Saturday) with Hospital Aides working a morning shift 0700-1500 or a late shift, 13:30-21:30. The Hospital aide(s) work under the direct supervision and guidance of Registered Nurses, including an In-Charge RN on each shift.

The Role

- The Hospital Aide maintains a clean and hygienic environment (Dialysis Unit), which is important for the prevention and control of infection, for a group of vulnerable patients, with Chronic Kidney Disease, on Haemodialysis.
- The Hospital Aide assists with the ordering, re-stocking and maintenance, of adequately stocked consumables, needed for Haemodialysis.
- The Hospital Aide provides refreshments (sandwiches and drinks) - following Food Handling Guidelines - for patients receiving Haemodialysis.

You will need

- Good communication skills, to be able to interact effectively with patients, carers and staff.
- Good stocktaking skills, to be able to maintain adequate levels of stock, consumables and items needed to care for patients on dialysis.
- To be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Details of appointment

The position is located at the Launceston Community Health Centre, 22 McHugh Street, Satellite dialysis unit.

- Permanent, part time, shift worker position, morning and afternoon shifts across Monday to Saturday - working 32 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join us.





*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$59,668 to $65,185 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025
