Key responsibilities and requirements to perform work

1. Occupation Tasks

- General plumbing and drainer duties:

- Install, test, service & repair

- Sewerage and stormwater systems

- Below ground drainage systems and aboveground support systems

- Sanitary plumbing and fixtures

- Hot and cold-water water supply systems and equipment

- Discharge pipes

- Fire hydrants and hose reels

- Gas piping systems from meter to main, rough ins and fit offs

- Lock up

- Trenching and excavation

- Maintain a safe workplace:

- Follow all Workplace and WorkSafe policies

- Team Leader

- Mentor apprentices

- Communicate performance expectations

- Identify and train all team members how to achieve expectations

- All other duties as required

2. Lifting tasks

- Pipes

- Tools

- Machinery

- Concrete bags

- General plumbing material etc.

3. Required body actions

- Kneeling

- Twisting

- Bending

- Crawling

- Squatting

- Stretching and reaching

- Climbing stairs

- Driving vehicles, trucks, etc.

4. Equipment utilised

- All power tools

- Elevating Work Platforms (Scissor & Boom Lift)

5. High risk work workplace

- Heights

- Both inside and outside

- First floor mezzanines (generally 3.6m high)





- Elevated Work Platforms (including scissor lifts and boom lifts)

6. Skills & experience

- At least three years experience in industrial plumbing projects focusing on Hotel & Office, Retail, Warehouse and Factory plumbing construction with proven abilities to

- Read, interpret and work to Hydraulic Drainage and Architectural plans

- Understand and apply AS Standards, Acts & Regulations and Construction Design Guides

- Budget, purchase products, plan, organise and problem solve within projected time and financial parameters

- Lead team members (apprentices and plumbers) of varying skill levels

- Work in hot and cold environments

- Risk assess, eliminate or minimise hazards and comply with SWMS

7. Qualifications

- Construction Induction Card

- VBA Licence or Registration

- Elevated Work Platform Licence (Boom Lift, Scissor Lift)

- Competencies to operate power tools
