TISC is a not-for-profit organisation supporting tertiary education in Western Australia since 1975. We facilitate applications for admission to WA’s member universities, administer the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT), and provide related services to thousands of students annually. Your Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions in Xero, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct bank and financial account reconciliations and assist in maintaining the general ledger.
- Prepare and support the development of financial reports, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Facilitate transfer of accurate and timely payroll related information to our financial/payroll services provider.
- Assist with audit preparations and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders, including universities, schools, and suppliers.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial and payroll operations.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field OR an equivalent combination of skills and experience.
Experience & Skills:
Essential
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and ledger maintenance.
- Proficiency with Xero financial software and the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience within an education or university workplace.
